Boiler feedwater treatment and water hardness monitoring equipment will be provided by Miura, a Japan based boiler manufacturer with a manufacturing plant in Rockmart, Georgia. The most common cause of overheating and failure of boiler tubes is when hard scale forms on the boiler tube surfaces. This scale comes from calcium and magnesium in the water. Overheating and eventual failure of the boiler tubes aren’t the only side effects of hard scale formation. Efficiency is also decreased in the short-term because of the scale's insulating effect on the heat transfer surfaces. A layer of scale just 1/8 inch thick can cause as much as 20-25% loss in efficiency - heat and money lost right up the boiler stack.
Miura's MW regeneration process is designed to deliver a more consistent, highly softened water supply, with the added reliability of double tank alternation and an integrated hardness detector and alarm. This system will keep our boiler running smoothly and efficiently.
